There are many financial incentives for lowering carbon in your life! But there is also a lot of fine print on who and what is eligible.
WHO All income levels, but some programs favor taxpayers, low-income households, certain locations, homeowners, for example.
WHAT The rules can be tricky. A qualifying appliance in one incentive program is not automatically eligible for others. Some programs require equipment be purchased at certain stores or installed by specific contractors.
Incentives come from the New Mexico, your electricity provider, cities and counties, non profits and manufacturers. Most of the Federal tax credits were rescinded by the Trump administration.

Check with your Utility (PNM, El Paso Electric, XCEL) or Rural Electric Coop for rebates, discounted and free products, clean electricity and Time-of-Use plans for less expensive rates when you are charging. PNM has more than one path for obtaining rebates (e.g. for heat pumps – Midstream program via contractor or the Home Energy Checkup). NM Gas also has rebates for air sealing, duct sealing and insulation.
